Life in the Sixth Form

Student Experience

Comments from students joining us in Year 12

“The main thing that made me sure that CSGS was the school for me was the constant support from the teachers. They both challenged me to be the best I could be and encouraged me every step of the way, providing extra support where necessary. They made sure I could grasp an understanding of the subject and devoted a lot of free time and resources in order to consolidate that information, resulting in me achieving grades throughout the two years that I did not think were possible.”

Amara Jarrett

“The past two years in this school have been fabulous! I got to experience a bit of everything, from getting to know new friends and teachers to getting tired when playing PE. One main thing was constant in every experience: the support of the teachers and my peers.”

Syraj Al Khalil

“From the staff to the pupils, CSGS welcomes everyone with open arms. It was incredibly frightening to leave my old school. However, at CSGS Sixth Form, I quickly made new friends and thoroughly enjoyed learning in such a positive and academically driven environment.”

Dana Satoc

‘The community at CSGS is welcoming and friendly, it allowed me to settle quickly into my A Level subjects. The teaching staff and other students have all been very friendly and approachable, helping me to achieve my full potential happily and confidently.’

Comments from the school captain

On becoming the School Captain, I have been presented with the opportunity to cultivate my social and leadership skills through the challenges I have had to overcome. Being a School Captain has given me the ability to be a role model to younger students and peers, showing the importance of the school values in developing a strong character. Acting as a role model has been incredibly fulfilling; it has tested my dedication, and allowed me to see the positive impact I can wield within the school. This generation of positive change is furthered by being able to work cohesively with the School Officer team, who have all developed their social skills and confidence. This has been especially true in public speaking and presenting new ideas for improvement within the school. This confidence and self-belief will further me in both my academic career and in all my future endeavours, preparing me for post-school experiences.
